Welcome to the website for the Western Australian Childcare and Early Childhood Education Conference, a collaborative project of the Child Inclusive Learning and Development Australia (Formerly RUCSN),
Professional Support Coordinator Western Australia (PSCWA), YMCA Perth and Edith Cowan University. This is a biennial Conference which aims to provide a forum for collaboration, quality learning and discussion for people working in the areas of Children's Services, Care and Education. The Conference is supported in achieving its aim through sponsorship from PSCWA, Lotterywest, the Department for Communities and the Department for Child Protection in Western Australia. Representatives from various child service industries and organisations in WA have formed the planning committee, ensuring that the Conference provides relevant, practical and stimulating learning for all participants.
The Conference provides participants with a wide choice of interactive workshops, seminars, discussion panels, keynote presentations from leading speakers in the field and opportunities for collaborative, cross-sector conversations. In providing this broad range of experiences and opportunities, the Conference aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To increase participants' knowledge in, and the practical skills for, quality childcare and early childhood education
- To provide opportunities for people working in the areas of Children's Services, Care and Education (carers, teachers, researchers, policy officers etc..) to have professional conversations about quality care and education in the context of integrated service delivery.
- To showcase successful national and international models of high quality childcare and education delivery systems.
The Conference is devoted to providing relevance to all people involved in child services, care and early childhood education:
- Childcare staff, managers and executives involved in the delivery of long day care, out of school hours' care, family day care and vacation care services.
