1st Call for Presentations
The Resource Unit for Children with Special Needs (RUCSN), YMCA Perth and Edith Cowan University invite submissions from individuals, teams and organisations within child care and early childhood education to present (45 min workshops) at the WA 2009 Childcare and Early Childhood Education Conference. The dates for the conference are 3-5 April 2009 and to held at the Sheraton Perth Hotel.
The theme for the 2009 conference is: Quality and Collaboration
Quality outcomes for children are directly related to the quality of the childcare and education which they receive and the degree to which those responsible for children's development and learning - the services, families and communities – work in partnership. Collaboration is a fundamental requirement of ongoing quality.
For children to be given the best opportunities for growth and development, quality needs to reside in all situations in which their development takes place; the various organisations – the family and community, child care and education. The integrated delivery of childhood services is fundamental to achieving quality in all sectors.
The theme strands encompass:
- Leadership in Children's Services, Care and Education
- Models of Integrated Services
- Quality Framework and Curriculum
- Communities, Families and Children
- Environments for Care, Development and Learning
Proposals / abstracts are to be submitted by Monday 27th October 2008 via the online format, please refer to the website – www.waecec.com.au
